ORDER BELOW APPLICATION FOR RENEWAL OF PASSPORT
Applicant/accused namely Mr. Ashley Agapito Torcato
has filed this application for renewal of passport. He has
contended that, he is facing the criminal trial. His passport bearing
No.Z3874564 will expired on 06.06.2026. Therefore, he has filed
this application for renewal of passport for next ten years.
2) Heard learned Advocate for accused and Ld. A.P.P.
Perused application, say filed by Ld. A.P.P.
3) Accused is facing trial since the year 2025. It appears
that the passport of accused will expire on 06.06.2026. This is not
the matter of permission to travel abroad. It is mere permission to
renew the passport. Merely granting permission to renew the
passport will not allow him to travel abroad. Hence, there is no
need to have apprehension that he will abscond on renewal of
passport. Considering the nature of offence and the above
circumstance, I do not find any reason to disallow such permission.
Hence, I proceed to pass following order :

ORDER
1) Application is allowed.
2) Permission granted to renew the passport of applicant/
accused Mr. Ashley Agapito Torcato subject to condition that,
he shall seek permission of this Court prior to travel abroad.
