ORAL ORDER
The plaintiff has taken out this Chamber summons to
amend the plaint.

2 Perused Chamber Summons, affidavit in support of
Chamber summons and service affidavit. Heard learned advocate
appeared for the plaintiff and defendants.
3 In brief, it is contention of the plaintiff that advocate of
plaintiff received email dated 24.2.2020 from the Advocate of
defendant No.1. It is informed by the said email that the name of
defendant No.1 is changed from “M/s. SOME PTE LTD.” to “M/s.
SEMBCORP MARINE OFFSHORE PLATFORMS PTE LTD.” with effect
from 01.04.2016 therefore, it is necessary to make amendment in the
plaint.
4 The Learned Advocate appearing for defendant No.1
submitted that there is typographical mistake in affidavit in support of
Chamber Summons. The name of defendant No.1 is “M/s. SOME PTE
LTD.” and in affidavit in support of Chamber Summons the name is
mentioned “M/s. SMOE Pte Ltd.”
5 Perused Exh.A annexed with the Chamber Summons. New
name of defendant No.1 is mentioned therein. Perused cause title of
the plaint Exh.1. The name of defendant No.1 is mentioned “M/s.
SMOE Pte Ltd. Considering the nature of amendment, I am of the
opinion that plaintiff can be permitted to amend the plaint. Hence
following order:-
ORDER
Chamber summons no. 456/2020 is allowed as under:
1. Plaintiff is permitted to make amendment in the plaint by amending
the title of the plaint and in place and instead of M/S. SMOE PTE. LTD.
and amend as “SEMBCORP MARINE OFFSHORE PLATFOREMS PTE.

LTD”.
2. Plaintiff is directed to carry out the said amendment in the plaint
within 14 days from the date of this order.
3. Plaintiff is directed to file on record amended copy of the plaint for
Court record and for defendant no. 1.
