Respondent in person. Ms. Iffat Sultana, Ld. Counsel for the respondent (through VC). Ld. Counsel for the respondent has filed reply and certain judgments on record. Copy of the same be supplied to the Ld. Counsel for the appellant Ld. Counsel for the respondent submits that on last date of hearing, Ld. Counsel for the appellant/ convict stated that appellant/ convict has already paid 20% of the cheque amount to the complainant, therefore, now, he will deposit the remaining amount i.e. difference between 20% of compensation/ fine amount and 20% of cheque amount. She further submits that 20% of the cheque amnount was paid U/s 143A NI Act and now, appellant/ convict be directed to deposit the compensation/ fine amount U/s 148A NI Act before the Ld. Trial Court. At this stage, Ld. Counsel for the appellant/ convict submits that appellant/ convict shall deposit the difference amount before the first week of January, 2024 before the Ld. Trial Court. -- 1 of 2 -- However, in support of his arguments, he shall file some judgment regarding the purpose and import of section 143A and 148A NI Act. Ld. Counsel for the appellant seeks some time to address arguments on this point. Time sought is granted. Put up for arguments on 12.02.2024.
