Sister of the deceased Ms. Poornima is also present.
Ld. Counsel for the complainant (through V/C).
Accused Surender Singh produced from JC (through V/C).
Remaining accused persons on bail with Ld. Counsel.
1. Matter is at the state of arguments on the point of charge.
However, written arguments have not been filed on behalf of Ld. Defence
counsel despite repeated opportunities. Today was the last opportunity for
doing the same as well as arguments. However, again a request has been
made by the accused on the ground that Ld. Main counsel is standing for
election of Bar Council of Delhi and therefore, could not appear in the court
today.
2. The above said request is strongly opposed by Ld counsel
for the complainant as well as sister of the deceased stating that the accused
is deliberately delaying the proceedings in the present case.
3. Be that as it may, it is common knowledge that elections for
Bar Council of Delhi are scheduled to take place shortly and the nomination
process is going on. Accordingly, in the interest of justice, last opportunity
is being granted to Ld. Defence counsel to file written arguments on the
point of charge on or before the next date of hearing and also the last
opportunity to argue on the point of charge on the next date of hearing. It is
made clear to Ld. Proxy counsel for the defence that failing the same, cost
shall be imposed upon the accused.
4. To come up for above purpose on 26.02.2026. Rehnumai of
the accused produced from JC would be every after 14 days through V/C.
