Ld. Counsel for petitioners submits that the Petitoner No. 2 Bachchi
Devi is about 90 years of age and due to her old age, it is not possible to obtain
her thumb impressions or finger prints to open an account in UCO Bank, KKD
Courts Branch. Applicant Bachchi Devi has visited multiple times and requested
the Bank Manager, UCO Bank to open her account so that she could get
compensation from MACT Tribunal on account of death of her deceased son
(namely Prabal Pratap Singh). She is facing difficulty in opening the account as
her thumb impression / finger prints are not detected in biometrics due to her age,
which is essential for opening account in a bank.
Heard.
Considering the submission of Ld. Counsel for applicant and
looking at physical state and age of the applicant Bachchi Devi, this Tribunal
hereby directs the Branch Manager, UCO Bank, KKD Courts Branch to open
saving bank account of Bachchi Devi by the way of face ID / any other process to
the satisfaction of Bank Manager / Branch Incharge. The Branch Manager is at
liberty to obtain affidavit / other requisite documents for confirmation of her
identity from the relatives.
Matter be put up for final arguments on 12.08.2026. Copy of the
order be given dasti to Ld. Counsel for petitioner.
