Record reveals that the matter has been pending at the stage of report on payment and substantial sum has not been paid in terms of the settlement. Even though the court is inclined to proceed with the matter on merits in light of non compliance by the accused, in terms of submissions made by both the parties, one effective opportunity is being given to comply with settlement arrived at between the parties. Today, a DD bearing no. 269534 dated 30.09.26 for a sum of Rs. 2 Lacs has been given to Ld. Counsel for complainant by proxy counsel for the accused in court today. Proxy counsel for the accused further submits that a sum of Rs. 5 Lacs shall be paid in the next week. Now to come up for report on payment/ further proceedings on merits on 21.12.26.
