File taken up today on an application filed on behalf of the
applicant/accused Tasleem for grant of interim bail for a period of 45 days.
Matter taken up through Video Conferencing from the residence.
Present: Sh. S.K. Kain, Additional PP for the State.
Sh. Shivender Singh, Advocate for the applicant/accused Tasleem (through
V/C).

Reply to bail application filed, which is taken on record.
By filing the present application, the applicant is seeking interim bail for a
period of 45 days due to outbreak of Covid19 Pandemic. It is submitted that the applicant is
susceptible to the said disease in the jail as his inmates are also facing massive Covid19
outbreaks and therefore the life of the applicant is at risk. It is therefore prayed that the
applicant be granted interim bail for a period of 45 days and that he is ready to abide by all
the terms and conditions so imposed by the court.
On the other hand, the bail application has been strongly opposed by the
learned Additional PP arguing that besides the aforesaid grounds, no other ground is cited
nor argued by the learned defence counsel; that the applicant is involved into serious
offence and there is every likelihood that he may abscond or threaten the complainant and

other witness if enlarged on bail. It is therefore prayed that the applicant be not granted
interim bail at this stage of the case.
In view of the aforesaid facts and circumstances as also the nature of offence
and the fact that merely because outbreak of Covid19 is not itself a ground for grant of
interim bail, I am not inclined to grant bail to the applicant/accused Tasleem.
The application accordingly stands disposed of as dismissed.
Copy of the order be sent to the applicant/accused through Superintendent
Jail as also to all the parties concerned.
